Chae is set to bring a Korean twist to this year's Maker and Monger Friends of Fromage Series, an annual celebration now in its ninth year that features the nation's best chefs. The series is renowned for its collaborative spirit, showcasing unique recipes that incorporate Maker and Monger's top-tier cheeses.
I’m looking forward to introducing Korean traditional ferments in a fun, unexpected way.
Chae recently met with Anthony Femia, the owner of Maker & Monger to discuss the menu, event date, and fine-tune the details. “Some of the biggest names in the food scene have participated in this event in the past to share their unique recipes incorporating M&M’s top cheeses. It’s an honour to be included in the series this year,” said Chae. “I’m looking forward to introducing Korean traditional ferments in a fun, unexpected way and sharing them with our Australian audience.”
Chae teams up with Maker and Monger
While the full details of the series will be released closer to the opening date, Chae offered a tantalizing hint about her menu: “I can give a spoiler alert—my menu won’t include kimchi toasties. I think kimchi toasties are overused. I want to surprise.”
The announcement for the event will be made through Maker and Monger's and Chae's social media channels. The event will take place at the Maker and Monger shop located in Prahran Market.
Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting culinary collaboration that promises to blend the best of Korean and Australian food cultures in a delightful cheese-centric experience.
